TEACHING:

Currently Head of PSHEe/Citizenship (and concurrently a Drama teacher until 2012) at Park View School Tottenham, London.

In 2008 completed MA Education through school based research.

Park View school is a comprehensive school in Tottenham, London N15, for 11-16 year olds (approx. 1200 students). Until recently the school had a unique dual specialist status in Performing Arts and Modern Foreign Languages.

Initially taught Drama as a specialised subject and used drama/active learning to teach Languages, PSHEE and Citizenship. Also produced many 'theme days' at the school focusing on aspects of the PSHEE/Citizenship curriculum. Now working exclusivley teaching PSHE and Citizenship in a combined PSHCE curriculum and liaising with several paraprofessional companies.

I am interested in making and keeping links with paraprofessionals in theatre in education and other school supporters such as the police (Trident and the Knife Awatreness Project), Trident, local lawyers MAGIC (Magistrates in the Community), the Citizenship Foundation, Dance4Life, Tender, Only Connect, Face Front, deep:black, Youth on Youth, the Haringey safer travel team and others.

Keen supporter of the Model United Nations project- becoming a partner school in the Comenius Regio project, with Highgate Wood school to found the North London MUN and link with two schools in Poland, in order to develop their MUN projects. See www.northlondonmun.co.uk

Recently working with the Time2Talk Project, developing mental and emotional resilience in young people. Building skills to become peer mentors and counsellors. Run by 'deep:black' company and 'Youth On Youth' film company, facilitated a student led forum theatre piece and a film to use in PSHE lessons (on issues of mental health, anxiety and stress in school).

Partly as a result of all this work, Park View has attained Healthy Sohools London Silver Award - (the first secondary school in Haringey to do so).
