RESEARCH


Completed an MA in Education through Middlesex University basing the research on my teaching work at Park View school.

In particular, the way in which drama can be used to teach across the entire curriculum - with particular focus on MFL, PSHE and Citizenship.

YEAR 1 - DRAMA AND MODERN FOREIGN LANGUAGES

Using Drama to teach Modern Foreign Languages in Key Stage 3.

An action enquiry involving drama and MFL teachers.

Developing Professional Practice. DPP.

YEAR 2

An action research project for school improvement. AESI.

Using drama and theatre to deliver aspects of the Citizenship curriculum.

Working with target groups within the schools and with outside theatre groups.

Developing the issues based drama curriculum for PSHE delivery.

Developing extra curricular drama projects for disengaged students.

YEAR 3

The Dissertation.

Creativity in the PSHE/Citizenship curriculum.

An analysis of the needs and requirements for INSET training of secondary school form tutors.

Looking at ways to inspire and encourage them to deliver PSHE and Citizenship in tutor time.

The focus is on varied teaching and learning methods - particularly active learning, cooperative learning,

drama and theatre activities, role-play and distancing techniques.

Sucessfully completed 2008.
